Thread veins (spider veins) are tiny red or blue veins that have become dilated and can appear on the legs as well as other parts of the body and the face. Some causes for thread veins include genetics, natural ageing, standing for long periods of time, pregnancy and even a bump or knock to the skin.
Although completely harmless, many of us find thread veins unsightly and look for effective, non-surgical ways to treat them.

Sclerotherapy involves the use of a tiny needle which injects a special liquid in to the vein, causing it to collapse and fade. This improved both the appearance and the symptoms of thread veins. Optimum results can be seen in as little as 12 weeks following treatment and many patients continue to see improvement for up to 12 months.
