Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)
Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) is a condition that can develop in puberty and is where a person sweats excessively at any time. It may affect the whole of the body or it may only affect certain areas such as the palms of the hands, armpits, back and even the face.
Hyperhidrosis can be an emotionally upsetting condition that can affect men or women. In most cases, the condition disappears after puberty has passed. However, in some cases it may continue to adulthood and cause many issues with living a normal life. Many who suffer from excess sweating need to change clothing several times a day to stay comfortable and to disguise their condition. Social interaction can become difficult and many avoid certain situations to minimise embarrassment.
